Bell Socialization

YAFCA is a proud partner with Bell Socialization Services, located in York, Pennsylvania.

Bell Socialization Services, Inc. began in 1966 as “The Bell Club,” a social gathering for people being discharged from local psychiatric hospitals into the greater York, PA community.

Today, all of Bell’s services follow the psychosocial rehabilitation model, which focuses on assessing individual strengths and needs, setting personal goals, and providing an environment that encourages growth and development. Bell’s ultimate goal is to help its consumers live as independently as possible in the community.

Bell Socialization Services, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization funded in part by federal, state, and local governments, as well as grants and tax-deductible donations.

The many programs and services offered by Bell Socialization Services can basically be boiled down to two main areas of focus: housing supports and basic living skills building.

Across the scope of our three service departments — Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Shelter Services —  they strive to help people secure safe, affordable places to reside and the tools they’ll need to live as independently as possible in the community.

More than one thousand individuals from the greater York/Hanover area use Bell services every year.
